The Nomad Café

Nestled under the trees just inside the stone gates of Ovingdean Hall School, inside two converted shipping containers you’ll find The Nomad Café. Run by two coffee obsessives who roast their own beans. The Roasted Bean Company are relocating their roastery to this site in the coming months, but in the mean time, you can visit to enjoy an extensive specialty coffee menu, breakfast, brunch and lunch and other delights.

The setting is tranquil and relaxing; just a fifteen minute walk from the coast, along the start of the South Downs via Greenways, you’ll find them hidden away. The deck teems with colour from potted plants, the sunshine hits the deck from the morning to the afternoon, and it’s a great spot for bird watching.

Their coffee offering is extensive and exciting and changes seasonally. Their espresso blend changes regularly, giving customers an opportunity to really explore the world of coffee. Single origins are offered in the French Press and coffees can be beautifully complimented with The Nomad Café Fine Syrups, of which there are four to sample.

The food is simple, hearty and healthy. Seasonal vegetables are used in their homemade soups and their toasties are really delightful, using high quality produce and local producers.

The cakes, bakes and biscuits are all locally made by a very talented baker using only premium grade ingredients. They only use organic milk and soya and almond for their alternative milk drinkers.

It’s not just coffee, with their selection of specialty teas along with their own signature hot chocolate made with organic cacao – there is something for everyone.

The Nomad Supper Club features monthly, along with special and seasonal events throughout the year, so follow them on Facebook to keep up to date with what’s going on in the coming months @cafenomadbrighton

They’re open Tuesday to Saturday 9.30a.m to 4.30p.m and Sundays 10am til 1pm all year round. You can find out more on their website and learn about their coffee

Well behaved dogs are warmly welcomed and they have a handy convenience at the rear of the café. There is no parking at The Nomad, so please just wander through on foot.
