Defibrillator target reached!

Great news from Jo Goddard as per the email below

Our Spring Fair at the weekend raised £952 which is totally brilliant. I have now been in contact with Community Heartbeat Trust to find out about the next step. With all the funds raised and pledged, we have £1,727.

The Rottingdean & Saltdean Lions have promised £500 and Compass Buses £50. We also have £225 in our Just Giving fund, mainly from the bucket collections in Ovingdean Stores.

I have approached the Council who said that we don’t need Planning permission. But to be on the safe side I have asked our MP Simon Kirby, to contact the Council Executives to obtain some evidence / statement to this effect. The phone box itself has been officially adopted by CHT from BT, so that’s done already.

Things are going to be getting underway in the next few weeks and hopefully we can place our Order for Installation very soon. its just amazing that we raised that much from our Fair – it was very busy and folks were really generous.

Hi, I am a local First Aid trainer and I would be happy to run some free familiarisation training for residents on how to use your defibrillator. Although it isn’t necessary to receive training on the defibrillator, it can give residents confidence in the event that they ever need to use it.
