New Brighton Bike Share scheme launched

What is the Brighton Bike Share scheme?

The bike share scheme is a public bicycle hire service. It gives residents and visitors the opportunity to hire a bike and cycle around Brighton & Hove. The scheme is similar to the ‘Boris bikes’ scheme in London and it is open to everyone.
The scheme will be launched on 2 and 3 September 2017 at central locations (TBC by me) in Brighton. Saturday 1000 – 1400, Sunday 1100 – 1500.

Come and meet Steve who will be introducing the scheme and the bikes both days.’  For more details

The area within which you can leave a life bike has been extended to include Rottingdean.

This means that you can ride from the City to Rottingdean, leave your bike padlocked to something permanent, and pay only a £2 extra fee on top of your hire charge. The £2 fee is to pay for the man with the van to come and recover it.

Should you look on social bicycles website and find a bike there, and you recover it back to a hub (nearest is in Rock Street, Kemptown, near Lidl) – you get a £1 recovery fee credited to your account.
